Founded in 1944 by Walter Herdeg and Walter Amstutz in Zurich, Switzerland, it was originally released bimonthly in three languages English, French, and German. It became an international journal of visual communication, showcasing award-winning work and providing in-depth insights into the creative industry.

Everyone aspired to be showcased by him, and designing the Graphis cover was considered a true triumph.
